Bobby Deol is an Indian actor who is the son of Bollywood actor Dharmendra and the brother of Sunny Deol, also a successful actor in the Indian film industry. Deol has characteristically acted in thriller films, often playing antiheroic characters in fims such as Badal, Gupt, Jurm and Bichhoo. Some of his successful films are Barsaat (1995), Gupt (1997), Soldier (1998), Badal (2000), Bichhoo (2000), Ajnabee (2001), Humraaz (2002), Tango Charlie (2005), Apne (2007), and Yamla Pagla Deewana (2011). Deol got the Filmfare Best Debut Award for his role in the 1995 film Barsaat and was also nominated for the Filmfare Best Actor Award for the film Humraaz.

More Information and Facts about Bobby Deol

  • Bobby appeared as a child actor in the film Dharam Veer in 1977 and then made his adult debut in Barsaat (1995) which was partly shot in Scotland where Deol broke his leg in a riding accident while filming and had to be flown to London. The film was a considerable success for which he won the Filmfare Best Debut Award.
  • In 1997, Deol performed in Gupt: The Hidden Truth, a suspense thriller which is considered his breakthrough role.
  • Bobby Deol starred in Dillagi, directed by and co-starring his brother Sunny Deol. The film is well-known for being Sunny Deol’s first film as a director and also the first time he acted alongside Bobby. They acted together in the films Shaheed (2002), Apne (2007) and Yamla Pagla Deewana (2011) as well.
  • Deol’s last role in 2008 was in the film Dostanaand was a supporting role to the films’ main stars Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra.
